China now heads the list of leisure operators

The collaboration between ECA (a global consultancy specialised in the development of attractions) and Blooloop (the leisure sector’s digital portal), has produced the first edition of the Global Attraction Landscape report. It is a study of the worldwide situation of amusement parks, albeit centred on the world’s 25 largest operators.

Even though the first places are still occupied by North American companies (Disney, Universal, Six Flags) and European companies (Merlin, Parques Reunidos, Compagnie des Alpes) in terms of turnover, it is interesting to note the appearance of many Asiatic groups on the list. There are so many, that the Chinese operators are more numerous than those from any other origin.
