Extension of Shankus Water Park and Resort, India

Amusement Logic recently signed a new commitment, in a partnership that builds on previous years, with the owners of Shankus Water Park and Resort. The constant reinvestment in the renovation and modernisation of the attractions and services of its leisure complex, in addition to its great success and popularity, also earned it the Tourism Award as the best water park in the Indian state of Gujarat. Once again, Shankus Water Park and Resort is embarking on a move to enhance the attractiveness of its facilities and offer new and improved services to its customers. With the signing of the agreement, Amusement Logic is committed to undertake the preliminary design of the extension, which will determine these actions.

According to the client’s proposal, which was finalised in meetings prior to the signing, the expansion of Shankus Water Park and Resort will include a sports academy, a new dry park area with a separate entrance and 50 new hotel rooms. These works will be complemented by the renovation and improvement of the aquatic facilities and catering areas.

Sports school for the whole family

In what will be a similar version of Rafa Nadal’s academy, the new sports school at Shankus Water Park and Resort will have between 6 and 8 tennis courts, both indoor and outdoor, as well as 4 badminton courts. Additional facilities will include a swimming pool and a gymnasium. Finally, a games and leisure room, with table tennis, billiards and other games, will extend the sporting offer to the whole family.

A park to spend the day

Another of the planned actions is the incorporation of a large landscaped area within the water park enclosure for the leisure and recreation of the locals and resort guests. Once again, all members of the family, seniors, adults, teenagers, youngsters and children, will find their place in the large park. Educational and physical activities, with rope games, obstacles and other adventure facilities, as well as shades, plants and quiet corners, will ensure that this is the case. With the right design, this landscaped park will become the perfect environment for regular school picnics and other activities.

A design project underway

The specific design project for the expansion of the Shankus Water Park and Resort is in full swing. The area of the different spaces, their location and all other parameters will emerge organically as a result of the close collaboration between the owners and Amusement Logic’s designers. From the initial evaluation phase of the idea to the conceptual design or the final master plan, efforts will focus on the coherence between the investment and its profitability, or, in other words, on the project’s viability.

Design with clear objectives

The design of the Shankus Water Park and Resort expansion will maximise both the aesthetic and functional potential of the new facility, with durable, low-maintenance attractions. The first objective of the project will be to complete a leisure and recreational offer that will appeal to family audiences of all ages. At the same time, and not least, the aim is to create a year-round destination that can be linked to a membership programme for families and individuals. To this end, the facilities will sufficiently justify the enthusiastic and repetitive visits of families.
