An interactive Spray Blocks game

As we announced in a previous publication, last October the first indoor water park on the Iberian Peninsula, Aquashow Indoor, opened to the public in Portugal. The executive project design by Amusement Logic included, among many other installations, an interactive game from our Spray Blocks catalogue. The company carried out the manufacture of the elements that make up this installation and executed its subsequent construction, so that today it is already being enjoyed by its young target audience, children from 2 -8 years of age accompanied by adults, and older kids who can enjoy the game unaccompanied.

Our interactive games in general, and the Spray Blocks in particular, are based on a design based on a modular manufacturing and construction perspective. Each of them is therefore adapted to the needs of the project, whether it is the available space, the expected number of visitors or other issues. In the case of Aquashow Indoor, the space for the Spray Blocks game was limited to a central circular plaza of approximately 165 m2 in area and 14.5 m in diameter, with a small beach at one end. The configuration of the interactive game, within a pool with a maximum depth of 30 cm, was determined with this space as an initial constraint.

However, our interactive games can also be adapted to the characteristics of the project in terms of colours and appearance, whether they are themed or manufactured according to the wishes of the promoter. Once all the details of configuration, modules and colour have been established, we finally manufacture and install the Spray Blocks interactive game in the determined space within the Aquashow Indoor water park. The result is a unique Spray Blocks interactive water game, which consists of 3 Hydrotubes of about 7 m length each, 3 Water Cannons, a Tipping Cylinder, a Windmill, a Shower Arch and a Disk of Jets.

A pioneering attraction: Crazy River

In addition to being the first indoor water park in Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula, Aquashow Indoor has several pioneering attractions in the world. These are the result of the permanent research, development and innovation of a team of technicians, designers and engineers from Amusement Logic’s technical department.

In a previous article we already referred to the Adventure Guide Track, one of these pioneering attractions, a high adventure-circuit designed, manufactured and installed by the company, which is already part of the Portuguese indoor water park. However, in this publication we are going to talk about an attraction that represents a novelty in the panorama of water parks, also present in Aquashow Indoor: its Crazy River.

The Lazy Rivers are a classic attraction that can be found in practically any water park in the world. Amusement Logic is a leader in their design, construction and installation, with its own technology that improves energy efficiency in the numerous projects in which it operates. Well, the company is putting a radical twist on the Aquashow Indoor water park and turning the attraction on its head.

Whilst Lazy Rivers are long, winding courses of gentle waters, in the case of the indoor water park’s Crazy River, its route is circular to adapt to the space and integrate with the rest of the attractions, and its waters circulate rapidly. The new system consists of 10, 90 mm diameter nozzles distributed along its circular course, through which water is propelled at the appropriate angle to create a rapid current. In this fast-flowing river, which is part of the indoor aquatic complex in the Spa area, visitors and tourists enjoy a new experience, swimming against the current or being swept along in the massaging fast waters.
