The primary shape from which we have modelled this new attraction at Amusement Logic’s Design Department is that of a volcano crater. With that as a starting point, we replaced the heavy, hard surface of the lava with tensioned nets, almost like a spider’s web. The result is a simplified, filiform and light image of the conical silhouette of a volcano crater. We have called this new playful game for children and youngsters, designed for public parks, hotel and resort playgrounds, children’s areas in campsites or shopping centre plazas, Volcano Web.

Our design takes the form of a flared surface, supported by a polygonal steel structure from which nets are stretched in two directions, towards the centre and outwards. Volcano Web therefore offers an environment for climbing and playing. Children and youngsters can grab hold and climb, inside or outside the spider’s web, to the top. Or crawl into the space in between. Both the nets and the upper polygonal surface are walkable and climbable. On the Volcano Web, young visitors and guests in public squares and parks, hotels and resorts, campsites or shopping centres will find a geometrical labyrinth that stimulates their imagination and encourages them to exercise their psychomotor skills.

Moreover, the transparency of the spider’s web allows parents and companions to observe and check on the evolution of the protagonists of this children’s game. Volcano Web is an attraction with a high user capacity and the highly versatile structure can be configured in many ways. Indeed, it can be made at different heights and can give different angles to the slopes of the nets or “sides” of the crater. With these variations, the playground equipment for children and youngsters offers different levels of difficulty, always within the regulations and depending on whether it is to be installed in a park or public square, or on the premises of hotels and resorts, campsites or shopping centres.
