Marbles, lollipops, planets, beads, abacus, pendulums, balloons on a string… All this and more is suggested by this new design of an evocative game for children and teenagers. We have created it as a combination of two elements of extraordinary simplicity: spheres and rectilinear tubes. Part maze, part cloud, part planetary system, its recipients will be drawn to it the moment it enters their field of vision. And not just because of its novelty, but because of the fun it promises and the challenge it immediately incites. It is a unique game, ideal for hotels or resorts, campsites, parks of all kinds, shopping centres or public squares. We have called it BallForest.
BallForest is a cloud of walkable spheres, pierced and held in place by straight stainless-steel tubes, anchored to the ground at a regular distance from each other. The position of the spheres at different heights from the tubes creates a multitude of possible routes, so that youngsters will rarely see the same route repeated as they traverse the game. For added stimulation and entertainment, each pole is topped with another sphere, which in this case functions as a bell. The vibration of the tube, as the children progress through the game, and the subsequent clanging of the different sound bodies contained in the upper sphere inside, will produce an exciting variety of sounds. In addition to the challenge of balance and psychomotor skills that BallForest represents for children and adolescents, there is the surprise of sounds that stimulate their senses. At the same time, the crowning spheres provide protection from the sun and the shadows they cast create a variety of visual profiles. Because of its simplicity, BallForest can be quickly installed in the common areas of hotels or resorts, campsites, parks, shopping centres or public spaces.
Made of roto-moulded polyethylene, the spheres can be backlit with flashing or colour-changing LED lights to provide an interesting space of light. A cushioned floor, with a suitable thickness depending on the maximum height of the balls, safeguards children and youngsters. The dimensions of the BallForest play set are adaptable to any project and its design offers great versatility, with a choice of a linear or grouped arrangement or a combination of both, or variable distances between the support tubes.
