Amusement Logic develops leisure and tourism projects around the world, such as waterparks and theme parks, campsites, hotels and resorts, shopping centres and others, and adapts them to the climatic conditions of each of their locations. In this case, we are going to deal with a solution for extreme hot weather conditions. We are talking about water misting systems.
We install these systems on canopies, pergolas, awning structures, as well as specific totems strategically placed next to walkways, queues or gathering points, throughout the water or theme park, campsite, hotel, resort or shopping centre.
The misting systems are simple and versatile and consist of a high-pressure pump, distribution pipes and nozzles. There are different types of nozzles for each method of diffusion, for each flow rate, or for varying ranges and positions. The design of the system should avoid the overlapping of the water mist clouds and consider the separation between nozzles, which is recommended to be between 70 and 100 cm, and their height, which is recommended to be between 2.5 and 3 m. Furthermore, the pump must be suitable for the demand of the installation.
Finally, in addition to the elements mentioned above, it is important to consider the use of filters, pressure gauges and UV filters for water treatment to ensure the best design for the misting system.
In the case of leisure and tourism projects, misting is used for outdoor cooling, and allows the ambient temperature to be reduced by up to 11°C. Consequently, they provide visitors, tourists and users of water or theme parks, campsites, hotels and resorts, shopping centres or any other large leisure and tourism facility with significant relief during extreme heat seasons.
