Theme parks are the perfect setting for the convergence of architecture and mythology. They bring mythological narratives to life, first through their design and then through their construction. The theming therefore, recreates the myths and draws visitors into a dialogue between the mythical past and the everyday present.

A representative example is the Efteling theme park in the Netherlands. Here, European mythology inspires magical environments and traditional narrative scenarios. Places like the Fairytale Forest turn ancient legends into tangible experiences.

In a contemporary context, the architecture of the entrance of the Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios serves as a gateway for visitors to the mythical world of Hogwarts. The meticulous recreation of fictional locations, such as Diagon Alley, embodies the mythical essence of the saga in an authentic experience. By contrast, in Bali, Asia, the Temple of Tanah Lot shows the influence of local myths on sacred architecture. The sacred sea serpent emerges majestically from the ocean in its design.

These examples illustrate how mythology orients design in architecture, towards the creation of thematic spaces. It achieves a deep immersion in cultural narratives. As such, it broadens the horizon, enriches the experience and builds visitor awareness.
