Qatar Tourism, the official Qatari government agency for the development and promotion of tourism in Qatar, was established to fulfil the ultimate objective of developing the emirate’s tourism sector. It has a number of key functions in this regard, namely: strategic planning and policy development to develop the tourism sector; developing a comprehensive plan to encourage investment opportunities in the sector; marketing and promoting the tourism destination for both leisure and business events; enhancing visitor experience; and managing regulations for the rapid and efficient implementation of tourism licensing and related services. Well, in the marketing and promotion of the tourism destination, Qatar Tourism has just launched a new international advertising campaign with the slogan “Experience a World Beyond”.

To achieve its stated goal of attracting six million tourists a year by 2030, Qatar Tourism is adding this new advertising campaign to impressive wide range of tourist attractions that Qatar already offers or will offer the world in the near future, with new hotels and resorts, numerous theme parks and major leisure and entertainment projects. Nine characters (including three characters representing Qatari tour guides), and the voice of the famous Indonesian singer Raisa as narrator, show international travellers the variety of experiences the country has to offer. With a combination of Qatar’s cosmopolitan modernity and historic Arabian tradition, the advertising campaign embraces the idea that today more than ever, travellers are looking for unique and authentic experiences that will fix unforgettable memories in their consciousness.

The campaign offers world tourism the deserts of Qatar, its coastline and beaches, the wide range of hotels and resorts, its exotic markets, as well as modern and traditional architecture, art and culture… And among the activities and experiences that this framework makes possible, adventure and sports, exquisite cuisine and luxury, romantic getaways, museum visits, as well as the enjoyment of a wide spectrum of leisure, free time and entertainment facilities, whether for family or adult audiences. And it is no coincidence that the advertisement ends with a picture of a large stadium, as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will undoubtedly be one of the main attractions for hundreds of thousands of visitors next year to get a first impression of what the country has to offer.
