Biological water filtration is based on the action of micro-organisms that break down the organic matter suspended in the water, therefore naturally eliminating impurities. The process is completed by a regeneration zone adjacent to the pool or pond, filled with aquatic plants that absorb nutrients and prevent the proliferation of algae. In addition, the roots of these plants provide an ideal habitat for bacteria that contribute to the purification of the water. All in all, a balanced and self-sufficient ecosystem is created.

To improve the performance of biological water filtration, we integrate advanced equipment and technologies, such as biological filters, which optimise the decomposition of organic matter; UV filtration systems, which eliminate pathogenic microorganisms without altering water quality; phosphate reactors, which reduce the nutrients that promote algae growth; and air drive systems, which help oxygenate the water and increase the overall efficiency of the biological process.

These devices reduce the need for an overly large regeneration surface, allowing the system to be adapted to smaller spaces. However, there are also fully modernised options, in which the regeneration area is completely omitted. In these cases, the pool is similar to a conventional pool, with the only difference being the equipment installed in the technical room.

Biological water filtration is a sustainable technique, as it drastically reduces the use of chemicals and, therefore, its environmental impact. At the same time, water free of chlorine and other aggressive chemicals is ideal for sensitive skin and prevents allergies. Moreover, biological water filtration is suitable not only for swimming pools, but also for ponds or artificial lakes where plants or fish are present. And it is an efficient and low-maintenance system. The quality of the water, crystal clear and free of impurities, is guaranteed.
