Social needs are evolving and urban planning and architecture are responding to new demands and trends. After the health crisis experienced in recent years, today there is a clear trend towards leisure, socialisation and tourism in outdoor open spaces. Therefore, there is an increasing number of projects for the design, architecture and construction of public infrastructures in which citizens can meet, hold celebrations, acts and recreational, cultural, political or artistic events.
The Amusement Logic’s Architecture Department, always attentive to these new trends in leisure and tourism as well as urban planning, presents the design of a light emblematic pavilion. It is a spherical pavilion, inspired by a sea urchin. In it, a lightweight three-dimensional structure supports a myriad of conical spikes that give it a unique, iconic appearance. The pavilion provides protection from the elements.
For its construction, we foresee the use of recycled translucent plastic materials. With their transparency, we achieve maximum daylight and an extra lightness in its appearance. At the same time, our design includes the integration of a misting system in its architecture. With it, adiabatic cooling will serve as an attraction for citizens in their daily use, during the hottest hours of the day. On the other hand, at night, and to add spectacularity, the proposal also integrates LED lighting with variable colours. With this, we have created an urban node of citizen interaction.
