The digitisation of the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) sector is a fact, and new advanced technological solutions are constantly emerging to further it, in a constant contribution to the efficiency of construction processes. Amusement Logic is no stranger to these advances, but rather adopts these technologies in its leisure and tourism projects. One such technology is that of “point cloud”.
By using a laser scanner, it is possible to obtain data and measurements of one or more existing constructions in a very short period of time. We then reproduce this construction in a digital model (or “point cloud”) that is extremely close to reality. This digital model is very useful in architecture, engineering and construction for different purposes. Supervising the status of the project that has been executed, monitoring the work on critical budget items (such as structures), or carrying out work on buildings and installations that lack up-to-date documentation, are some examples.
Amusement Logic has recently and successfully used this technology in a project for the renovation and expansion of a large water park. This is Aquashow in Portugal. We integrated the existing buildings and structures of complex geometry in what is the first indoor water park on the Iberian Peninsula.
