We present the design of an indoor swimming pool for sports practice, inspired by natural shapes and water. The cover, as you can see, adopts the golden ratio geometry of a seashell, a natural element and the laminated wood of the false ceiling follows the curvature of this shell.

Around the perimeter of the shell, columns have been arranged in a geometry reminiscent of an elongated hyperboloid, the idea being that they mimic jets of water falling into the pool. On a smaller scale, on the walls, the composition of columns and perimeter beams is repeated, including the openings for the accesses and essential connections.

A curtain wall is installed on the front façade of the pool to allow more natural light to enter. It also offers users a privileged view of the surroundings. On both sides of the pool, there are areas for gyms and classes with direct visual connection to the pool. The changing rooms and access to the pool are located on the ground floor.

With the idea of holding sporting competitions in mind, the design includes a spectator seating area, which is accessed from the top. This area is enclosed by a glass railing, which minimises visual obstructions. The spaces under the stands are used for auxiliary rooms such as technical, security and surveillance rooms, amongst others.
