The tree represents the shelter under which the most primitive gatherings in the history of the human species took place. This idea is what inspired us to design a space covered with delicate and beautiful flower petals. So, in a similar way to trees, we created a place of gathering and refuge for today’s humans.

The nine petals arch over a surface that is now shaded, protected from solar radiation and heat. It therefore provides a setting for conversation and interaction for citizens. The design allows these petals to increase in size as they unfold around the central stem.

At the same time, the design produces a permeable space between the petals, which open like doors to welcome visitors. The petals, which glow in the sun during the day, are illuminated at night by lights on the central stem, in a permanent invitation to shelter under their structure. With the addition of the movement of the petals, the combinations of a space that can be adapted to a wide variety of circumstances and uses, are multiplied.
