The use of LED lighting on building façades is a trend that is spreading in contemporary architecture. It is not only used for the lighting of spaces, but also serves to create expressive and ornamental designs that give a building a distinctive character.
LED technology already offers a series of design resources that until very recently were not possible. High intensity effects, colour change, movement, transitions, outlines and dot matrix that reproduce images are just a few examples. Therefore, the combination of LED lighting and backlighting, together with the use of video-mapping projectors and the combination with translucent materials or digital printing, open up a new field of design in architecture.
We present in images two façade lighting studies for an architectural project on which Amusement Logic is working. The first design employs a combination of dynamic RGB LED strips on a polyester fabric façade. It is a very versatile combination. In addition to the flexibility provided by the LED light, the fabric also offers numerous possibilities of colour and specific graphic design with the option of its graphic printing.
The second design uses LED lights installed in the gaps of a façade made with our exclusive 3D-Tech system. We therefore create an effect of light and shadow, which gives depth and highlights the texture and volume of the façade.
