The design, architecture and construction of public spaces must take into account the development of new technologies. These disciplines must meet the new demands and requirements born in society as a result of these technologies. This is the case, for example, in the automotive sector, where the needs for new electric vehicles are multiplying. In the Design Department of Amusement Logic, aware of this fact, we studied the possibilities offered by photovoltaic parking.
The design we present is that of a large surface parking lot, which integrates photoelectric panels on the part exposed to the sun’s rays to produce energy. At the same time, anticipates the incorporation of terminals for charging electric vehicles. Finally, it includes an integrated LED lighting system. In this way, the photovoltaic parking lot adapts to environmental conditions, meets the requirements of sustainability and self-sufficiency, and is open to new technologies.
The design, architecture or construction of car parks is often approached according to a residual, even second-rate industrial approach. In contrast, our proposal presents the infrastructure as a cared-for space with an innovative and futuristic design. The car park space gains in character, offers a more complete and pleasant experience, and gives a special welcome to all visitors.
