The BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology is compatible with other technologies that will further revolutionise the architecture, engineering and construction sector. One of these is Augmented Reality (AR). This technology allows the integration of virtual information in a real environment, using a mobile device (such as a smartphone). Amusement Logic develops leisure and tourism projects with virtual BIM technology models, so we can use AR to gain potential during the construction phase.

The leisure and tourism facilities that Amusement Logic designs and builds are highly complex and usually involve a huge amount of equipment. Examples of this are the technical rooms of water parks or big themed swimming pools, with large filtration and pumping equipment and intricate piping layouts.

In this way, we can take the 3D models incorporated into the BIM project and visualise the exact location of the various planned equipment in an already built, but still empty technical room using AR. In this way, we move through the installation and have the ability to detect problems and collisions, visualise parameters and add comments in real time from the construction site. Undoubtedly, the combination of BIM methodology with AR is a great help for the coordination of the project in the construction phase.
