The audit levels for BIM (Building Information Modelling) models are a total of 7 and are as follows:
1. BIM Execution Plan (BIP) Compliance.
2. Review of “Hard Clashes”, or spatial interferences between disciplines.
3. Review of “Soft Clashes”, or less obvious interferences (e.g. hatch opening spaces, accessibility to devices, valves and equipment, space for machinery passage, etc.).
4. Compliance with the IDS (Information Delivery Specification), published by BuildingSMART. There are 16 specifications for building construction and another 10 for infrastructure construction.
5. Model Health, which covers, among other aspects, a “clean” model, from which disused elements and views, disconnections and other components that may affect the performance of the work with the file are eliminated.
6. Integrity of the Model, which ensures the quality and coherence of the information provided, thanks to its constant and consistent updating with the rest of the related information (plans, tables and cubic dimensioning, analysis of computer programmes, etc.).
7. Design review, both at the disciplinary and overall level. This review takes into account applicable regulations, client specifications, existing conditions, operational conditions, geometric accuracy, design drawings, etc.
