“More than a hotel…a fairytale” is the welcome on the Disneyland Hotel Paris website. One line further down: “Welcome to the newly reimagined Disneyland Hotel, the ultimate 5-star destination where everyone can celebrate magical stories and write their own”. Indeed, each of these words of welcome has a reason for being, as we will see below.

Firstly, because it is the “new” Disneyland Hotel Paris, since, after a 2-year renovation, it was at the end of last January (2024) that the fantastic hotel (never better said) reopened its doors to the public. In the words of Sylvie Massara, art director of Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, quoted in Elle Decor magazine, “nothing was preserved” from the previous version of the hotel, except for its recognisable and emblematic façade, of course. But the refurbishment goes even further, Massara tells Elle Decor, and reaches “the whole package”, as “thought has been given to everything from the selection of flowers, to the perfume that can be appreciated in the hotel, or the employees’ wardrobe“.

Another question is that of “celebrate magical stories and write their own”. Indeed, as you enter its monumental foyer, you will inevitably be caught up in an immediate feeling of unreality and transported to the library of a grand French-style fairy-tale castle. You may even come across a Disney princess, in a truly “immersive experience“. The stunning crystal chandelier inspired by Sleeping Beauty’s castle is likely to catch our eye. Incidentally, a master glassblower from the Czech Republic made the thousands of crystals in this one-tonne chandelier, some of his pieces from Bohemian crystal. Dutel, a third-generation jacquard fabric specialist from Lyon, made the thousands of suits that characterise some 800 employees. As Massara explained, a variety of distinctive perfumes follow one after the other throughout the day.

The rooms also promise to transport you to the world of dreams, in other words, fairy tales. Especially if you can afford the most exclusive of them. As we read in The Globetrender, prices range from €290 for the most basic on the ground floor to €10,500 for the 206sqm royal suite at the top, with Frozen-inspired theming, including a white grand piano, sumptuous interiors and views over the theme park. In the section called The Castle Club, “a hotel within the hotel” occupying the top two floors of the building, 16 “signature” suites reproduce the settings of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Sleeping Beauty and Tangled. In total, Disneyland Hotel Paris has 487 rooms.

The whole of this “majestic residence”, whose decoration balances kitsch and fantasy, or as Massara tells Elle Decor, with “touches of period and classic air but always within a certain modernity“, is completed with a children’s club, restaurants, indoor pool and spa. Even the menu at The Royal Banquet, the main restaurant, is inspired by the fables recreated by the Disney factory.
