The pressure on all fronts to make human activities more sustainable marks the future path of many activities, including construction. One of the ways to make the latter a greener and more environmentally responsible process, is precisely the use of recycled materials.
Many innovative solutions are already available on the market and are gradually transforming the construction industry. These include the following:
–Recycled bricks: made from plastic or glass, this type of brick reduces the amount of waste and is characterised by its strength and durability. It is a more sustainable alternative to ceramic or concrete bricks, without compromising on quality.
–Recycled concrete: the inclusion of demolition debris and other recycled materials in the concrete mix reduces its carbon footprint.
–Recycled wood: an excellent option for sustainable building, contributing to the conservation of forests and biodiversity by reusing existing wood.
–Green roofs: shingles and solar panels made from recycled materials provide renewable energy and contribute to waste reduction. Their sustainability as such stems from both aspects, in other words, their energy efficiency and the reuse of materials.
By adopting these solutions, we contribute to building a more sustainable future.
