A new proposal for easily transforming existing swimming pools into water parks, hotels, resorts, wellness centres and spas, as well as public and private pools. On this occasion, Amusement Logic’s Design Department has developed the idea of transforming ordinary swimming pools into luminescent pools. In these pools, thanks to light and movement, the water becomes a mysterious, enveloping element.
Going beyond simply adding decorative lighting to the pool basin, this new design offers a new aquatic experience. Through fibre-optic systems, programmable underwater LED lights, photoluminescent materials and careful integration into the pool’s flooring, edges, waterfalls and depths, the water takes on an almost theatrical presence. Waves of light, glowing paths, floating zones, gentle currents or effects inspired by ocean flows create immersive atmospheres without the need for large structures.
This concept offers a range of options for the operation of aquatic facilities, whether they be water parks, hotels or resorts, spas, or public and private swimming pools. In water parks, in particular, it allows the experience for users and visitors to be extended into the evening hours and creates quieter areas, distinct from daytime leisure activities. In public swimming pools, it encourages organisers to run summer programmes, featuring night-time swimming, family events, wellness sessions or other appealing experiences. In hotels and resorts, it adds emotional value to guests’ stays, as they will remember the luminescent swim as a unique moment of their trip.

From a design perspective, the luminescent pool avoids overly obvious effects and opts for integrated, precise and atmospheric lighting. The engineering, moreover, serves the design—that is, the emotion. To this end, it features accessible maintenance systems, treated-water resistant materials, lighting control systems, and equipment that is energy-efficient and electrically safe. Night-time visibility and compatibility with daily operations do the rest to ensure the proposal is thoroughly appealing.
The expected effect of luminescent pools in water parks, resort hotels or spas is to encourage guests to stay longer and, consequently, to improve profitability. This is achieved by diversifying what’s on offer, enhancing the experience and, at the same time, establishing a unique identity.
