Extension of the Yelloh! Village Domaine du Colombier campsite, France

Between St. Tropez and Cannes, on a hill above the village of Fréjus overlooking the village and the sea that bathes the French Riviera, the 5-star Yelloh! Village Domaine du Colombier campsite is open to tourists and travellers looking for peace and quiet, beaches, sun, good weather… and superb aquatic facilities. Indeed, this campsite has a spa, large swimming pools and solariums, water slides and, of course, numerous bungalows with capacities ranging from 2 to 6 people amidst lush, typically Mediterranean vegetation. However, the aquatic space available on the campsite must comfortably accommodate guests, even when occupancy reaches 1,500 people. This idea led the managers of Domaine du Colombier to plan the extension of these aquatic facilities. For this mission, they relied on the guarantees and expertise of Amusement Logic.

More specifically, the water park at the Yelloh! Village Domaine du Colombier campsite has a capacity of around 400 sun loungers, while the smaller Moorea spa is exclusively for premium customers without children. However, according to the requirements of the campsite managers, the new aquatic area must have a capacity for 150 additional sun loungers, a swimming pool with 2 or 3 lanes of 25 m in length, and a children’s aquatic play area. For this extension, the campsite has a 1,500 m2 plot adjacent to the water park. Among its special features, Amusement Logic had to take into account the steep slope of the terrain.

Once the design work had been completed, the project for the extension of the water park at the Domaine du Colombier campsite was divided into 4 distinct areas: a beach area, lawn, parasols and sun loungers, measuring 665 m2; a central area with a pool exclusively for swimming, according to the specifications of the campsite managers, with a total surface area of 320 m2; a children’s area at the same level and attached to the existing water park, measuring 375 m2, which, being elevated, allows a gym and a dry children’s playground to be included under it, under cover; and, finally, 445 m2 of surface area for a relaxation pool where an extra number of parasols and sun loungers can be deployed.
