The desert is a landscape as fascinating as it is extreme. It is immense and silent, arid and luminous, hot by day and cold by night. The Design Department of Amusement Logic presents a proposal for a luxury tourist resort that takes advantage of these contrasts inherent to the world’s deserts. This new design does not compete with the desert, but rather represents the idea of a constructive dialogue, seeking to reach an understanding with it.

This new architecture sets itself the goal of integrating the resort’s accommodation and service buildings into the terrain. It makes use of stone, carefully designed shadows, and turns the horizon into part of the guest experience. Water, for its part, has much to contribute to the concept. Swimming pools and waterfalls merge with the landscape and turn the courtyards into cool places. Like small oases, they transform the setting. Vegetation grows and takes over spaces for rest and privacy, wherever water makes life possible.

The desert remains; the experience is transformed. Against heat, the design offers shade; against aridity, water; against immensity, views; against isolation, privacy; and against silence, calm. And everything translates into well-being. At sunset, the architecture is reflected in the water under a new light; at night, the resort disappears beneath an infinite sky, and the desert once again takes centre stage.
