In 2018, Amusement Logic finalised the executive project for the design of a new facility. This, after its construction and final opening, was to set a precedent in the leisure and tourism sector in Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula. Four years later, after the construction work carried out by Amusement Logic, with interruptions caused by the global health crisis, the time has come. Since last October, when it opened its doors, tourists, holidaymakers, travellers and visitors have been able to enjoy the first indoor water park on the Iberian Peninsula. It’s Aquashow Indoor, which is now part of the large tourist complex on the Portuguese Algarve, in the town of Quarteira. It joins the Aquashow outdoor water park and the 4-star 148-room hotel attached to it.
At the time, we told you about the Adventure Guide Track (AGT), the first attraction of its kind in the world, which now forms part of the new indoor water park. In addition to this unique adventure track, Aquashow Indoor features a climbing wall, a wave pool, a children’s water area with our interactive Spray Blocks game, slides and water cannons, and another children’s area with slides with a starting height of up to 26 m, including a spectacular Tornado model; It also offers the international public an area with a spa, relaxation pool, Jacuzzis, hydromassage beds, a fast river circuit for counter-current swimming, showers of various types, sauna, Turkish bath, massage rooms, etc.
Although it operates independently from the rest of the facilities, the new Aquashow Indoor allows the leisure, tourism and entertainment offer of the large aquatic complex to be extended 365 days a year. This new investment responds to the policy of which its director spoke to us in the interview he gave us at the time. According to Celestino Santos, this policy consists of “always investing in innovation and having new attractions every year. It is important to have an offer that does not yet exist in the region. On the other hand, diversity and satisfying the preferences of all types of customers is also essential”.
