It was 1999 when Amusement Logic took on a monumental challenge: the design and construction of some of the themed areas of what would become the largest theme park in the Valencian Community. This was Terra Mítica, located in the tourist town of Benidorm (Alicante, Spain). The project, covering an area of almost 100 hectares—equivalent to 140 football fields—adopted a narrative based on the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean Sea, with five themed areas: Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Islands, and Iberia. The company was responsible for the theming, the construction of artificial rocks, the creation of special effects, the interior design, and the decoration of the Roman area and the park’s main attractions: Splash, Flume, and Rapids. Amusement Logic completed the project at the end of 1999.

Perhaps the best way to convey the company’s working method—which at the time had only been in operation for three years—is to quote the historic letter of recommendation signed by one of Terra Mítica’s directors in 2000, when the theme park opened to the public. Regarding the contracted work, we read:

“It was completed within 10 months, adhering at all times (and even exceeding in some cases) the tight deadlines, resulting in a record-breaking construction project of its kind.”

The letter then adds:

“The completion of this work in such a short period was made possible by its infrastructure [Amusement Logic’s], comprised of numerous specialists and professionals in the sector, and by its experience in executing similar projects both in Spain and abroad.”

But the letter doesn’t stop there; it also highlights the company’s comprehensive approach:

“Amusement [Logic] has brought a holistic approach and a comprehensive treatment to its work, allowing them to address the needs and requirements requested by the owner, the park’s technical management, and the project management team in a timely, professional, and efficient manner.”

It then emphasizes the quality and technical compliance:

“All the work carried out by Amusement [Logic] has been approved by the technical management and the project management team for conforming to the required quality standards and technical specifications.”

Furthermore, the statement values the human factor:

“The ease of daily interaction (…), both personally and professionally, has resulted in better use of time invested in the project, savings in unnecessary costs (…) and, ultimately, has ensured the optimal completion of the planned work.”

And it concludes with resounding praise:

“It’s also worth highlighting the quality of the work carried out by this company, in keeping with the emblematic nature of the project (…), a company that is at the highest level in the execution of this type of work within the leisure sector.”

TERRA-MÍTICA-2

As you can see, Amusement Logic’s way of working hasn’t changed since then. The next project we’ll be revisiting to commemorate our 30th anniversary will be the Oceanogràfic animal park, which opened to the public in 2002. Don’t miss it!
