Many of our large leisure and tourism projects, whether they are water, animal or theme parks, hotels and resorts, campsites, shopping centres, etc., allocate a significant part of their surface area to car parks, so that before entering them visitors can leave their vehicles comfortably and safely. At the same time, these projects are usually located in places with good weather conditions and, therefore, with many hours of sun and heat. So, we usually propose complementary solutions for these extensive car parks, so that these tourist and leisure facilities offer shade for users’ vehicles and therefore become much more comfortable and attractive. Here we present one such solution: Up & Down Shader.
It is a scalable modular structure consisting of posts with hinged arms that support canvas over the car park, which block the sun and cast shade over the car park. These arms, attached to the central post with hinges, can reach an angle of between -10º and 20º with respect to the horizontal line. By alternating positive and negative angles throughout the Up & Down Shader, we manage to break lines and create an interesting geometric rhythm. At the same time, when the weather conditions are not so good, we give rainwater a drainage path. The height of the pillars and the length of the arms are variable and can be easily adapted to the dimensions of any project.
Both the pillars and the hinged arms are made of galvanised steel. They can also be lacquered in any colour to match the corporate colours of the park, hotel or resort, campsite or shopping centre they serve.
