The design of the Ocean Cube multi-purpose pavilion is inspired by the oceans, the origin of life on the planet.
The façades, with perforated aluminium panels, feature different shades of blue, corresponding to the different sea depths. It has a garden area at its base, with a layout of rockery and vegetation reminiscent of the compositions of the ocean floor and reefs.
The roof is made of white concrete and its vaulted undulations reproduce the shape of the sea waves and their foam. This roof extends towards the entrance area and provides a space for welcoming and receiving visitors. At the other end of the pavilion, the roof folds down to a pond, whose function is not only decorative. It will also serve to collect rainwater from the roof, and as a sculptural gesture to suggest and promote sustainability.
