The creative process involved in the design of water parks begins at Amusement Logic with a holistic view: the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. If this were not the case, the layout of the various attractions, for example, would be of little importance. On the other hand, what is creativity if not the production of previously non-existent elements, greater than the simple accumulation of their parts taken in isolation? And wouldn’t all water parks be the same if they were the result of the sum of attractions? However, this is not the case; each water park that comes out of Amusement Logic’s design work is unique and particular.
In fact, the water park projects developed by the company are proof that the juxtaposition of their components exceeds the expectations of their simple enumeration. Therefore, technology, narrative, efficiency combine… all under the umbrella of its design. All within a framework of economic viability and environmental responsibility, of course. At the end of the day, a simple sum of parts does not ensure returns on investment, as is the case with water parks that exceed the enumeration of their components. Yes, indeed, a water park is such a complex construction that it is almost like a living organism.
Therefore, a water park is a “cell” of fun where water dialogues with theming elements, interactive technology and complementary services. If we put it under the microscope, we see that a slide is not just water flowing inside a tube, or an extended concave surface, but an experience that transports visitors into situations that directly impact their physiology – so to speak. Special effects, programmable lighting, strategically distributed surprise elements, colours, curves, straights, ascents, descents along the ride… All these details will enhance the public’s response to the experience of going down the slides of a water park and will surely make it infinitely more memorable.
As you might imagine, both technical and creative innovation play a key role in the holistic equation. But also part of it, as unknowns to be clarified, are the flow strategy and the distribution of activity areas -for families with small children, for teenagers to release their overflowing energy or for adults who prefer spaces for relaxation and rest-; the provision of complementary services; the offer and location of restaurants -preferably with privileged views-; natural shading…
Like any living being, a water park also has to be “fed”. In this respect, sustainability is a determining factor. To this end, it is necessary that durable construction materials with low environmental impact, state-of-the-art water recirculation and treatment systems, photovoltaic roofs, recycling, operational efficiency…enter into the formula.
Indeed, Amusement Logic conceives the water park as a whole that surpasses its components. Each of its parts will affect the others and its sum, the whole, as a factor of employment and economic development, will affect the regional “ecosystem”.
