Nowadays, thanks to bidirectional parametric software, we create “live” digital models to which we assign the properties and characteristics of the elements that make up the model.

To be able to exploit these digital models, we must have a library of content, with the premise that the unique data prevails above all else. Otherwise, what we would have in reality is a geometrically apparent 3D model, but with duplicated internal data or data that is unwieldy when it comes to automating processes.

For this reason, in Amusement Logic’s BIM department we categorise and instantiate each element with a unique identifier. In this way, we are able to manage this data and use it in different ways. For example, to link it to ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning), maintenance software, digital twins, etc. To this end, we introduce a 16-byte GUID (Global Unique Identifier) in the digital element.
