It is common for a developer to come to Amusement Logic and propose a leisure and tourism project from a general point of view and with a minimum of details. Subsequently, Amusement Logic’s Design Department comes into play. From that moment on, the elements of the project begin to be defined, in close collaboration with the developer, and it is often enriched with new ideas and proposals. This is precisely what happened with the project we present to you, a highly complex tourist destination, divided into 4 levels, with a system of retractable roofs that allows it to adapt to the seasons and, therefore, to be covered and outside at the same time.
This destination includes a hotel, a water park with a children’s area and an adult area, spa, saunas, treatment and wellness areas, and a profusion of facilities for the enjoyment of thermal waters. Since it is a leisure centre for the whole family, from children to adults and seniors, and encompasses all disciplines of aquatic entertainment, we define it comprehensively as an aquathermal tourist resort.
With regard to the layout, we divided it generally into two sections: the one occupied by the hotel and the one destined for the activity areas. For the guests’ peace and quiet, the hotel occupies a side margin of the project, separated from the activities by a large entrance plaza and the spaces whose function are ticket sales, changing rooms, cloakroom and lockers.
The hotel, with 128 rooms and 4 floors, houses both the hotel’s own offices and the administration offices for the entire tourist complex. The hotel also has a restaurant and a gymnasium. On the 3rd floor, a raised garden offers guests the charm of nature, with one part covered to shelter them from the winter days and the other open to the soothing air of the summer months.
As for the activity areas, we divide them into three groups according to their intensity. With this criterion, we have a low activity area where visitors and guests will find a large relaxation pool, hydrotherapy, air beds, jacuzzis, a crazy river, as well as saunas and relaxation rooms and other beauty and wellness treatments.
In the medium activity areas, there are 2 outdoor swimming pools for adults, one of them with a perimeter that imitates the beach, both with bars accessible from the water and more jacuzzis and air beds, as well as the spaces occupied by the restaurants and their terraces and dining rooms.
Finally, in the area of more intense activities, we have brought together a wave pool, the water slides and their reception pools and a space for the smallest children, with a nursery and children’s games, a Splash Pad and a pool with suitable water slides.
As you can see, when we face the design of such a complex aquathermal tourist destination, it is an unavoidable challenge to achieve a balance between all its components. However, by placing the comfort and delightful experience of customers, visitors, tourists and guests at the centre, both as a starting point and as the ultimate goal, the path becomes much simpler. The design of this aquathermal resort is but one example of this perspective.
