Construction of El Dorado Park in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, began at the end of 2021, and it was on 13th September (2024) that the water park opened its doors. Since its inauguration, the press has been unanimous in its praise for what is truly an unusual and spectacular project. This is a clear indication of the importance of this water park as a tourist attraction in the country and in the region, a park to whose construction Amusement Logic has contributed – as we told you in a previous article below.

“A world-class water destination”, we read in one of the many newspapers reporting on the opening ceremony of El Dorado Park. Indeed, the El Dorado Park water park has 20 attractions of all flavours and all thrills, for all ages and all families. Among these attractions are the River of Tears and the Fin sin Fin, two lazy rivers, each with its own particular characteristics, created by Amusement Logic.

Of the first, the River of Tears, we know that – according to the theming of the water park, inspired by the legend of the city of gold – “since the dawn of time, (…) it has flowed gently between borders”. And “its soft current”, by the way, flows through waterfalls and imposing skulls, or the Weeping Twins. In contrast, “the mythical river” Fin sin Fin “flows at the foot of the Tree of the Perpetual Fountain, in an endless circle in which the little ones can be carried away in its calm current”.

“An innovative and sustainable proposal”, we read in another newspaper, which also reports on the opening of the El Dorado Park water park. This refers to the fact that it is the first themed water park in the country, and that it respectfully integrates, from the point of view of vegetation and landscaping, nature into its own grounds. It is also a project that has yet to grow, as only the first phase of its construction has been completed, which will be carried out in two further phases over a total area of 115,000 m2.

With a contribution of close to €69 million from “major world-leading companies in the entertainment industry”, El Dorado Park is “one of the most ambitious and transformative investments in the Dominican Republic’s tourism industry”. Or “a milestone in tourism” in the country that generates around 350 direct jobs and 500 indirect jobs. After all, it is “the largest and most advanced water theme park in the Caribbean”, which has been growing in popularity since its opening.
