Camping Le Brasilia opened its doors in 1964, in the Pyrénées-Orientales department on the Mediterranean coast of France. It forms part of the history of French campsites, but also of Amusement Logic. Given its significance, we have included this campsite in the series the company is dedicating this year to landmark projects, in commemoration of its 30-year history. Since its inception, Camping Le Brasilia — a founding member of the Yelloh! Village chain — has earned well-deserved prestige and the 5-star rating that crowns its proven quality. Over the course of more than 60 years, the campsite has undergone a transformation, and Amusement Logic has played a part in that transformation. That is the story we are going to tell you.

The first aquatic facility at Camping Le Brasilia consisted of a conventional swimming pool with two pools in a neo-modern style — characterised by rationality, functionality and a rejection of ornamentation, with simple geometries, straight lines and materials such as concrete, glass and steel — typical of the 1980s and 1990s. However, in the mid-2000s, the management faced a problem: guests had stopped using the swimming pool. The original aquatic facilities — one for adults shaped like a tennis racket and another for children shaped like a ball — had become outdated. It was then, in 2009, that the campsite management contacted Amusement Logic. Following the initial discussions, the brief was clear: to renovate, expand and reorganise the existing aquatic area.

The attraction opened in 2010 under the name L’Archipel (The Archipelago), and consisted of an aquatic area covering more than 4,000 m², themed with artificial rocks inspired by the original geology of the Seychelles. Granite rocks, gently sloping lakes, waterfalls, wooden bridges and coconut palms recreate a tropical atmosphere right in the heart of the Eastern Pyrenees. The five new lakes or pools were given evocative names: Anse Cocos, the heated paddling pool for the little ones; Anse Soleil, the activity pool, featuring water slides and a hydro-tube; Anse Takamaka, the swimming pool; and Anse Source d’Argent and Anse Corail, the two hydrotherapy pools with anatomical beds, hydromassage and jacuzzis.

Amusement Logic’s participation was called upon once again four years later, in 2014. The new commission involved a swimming pool. What made this new development within the campsite unique was that it was not merely a conventional swimming pool. No, the new pool featured waterfalls, benches for resting, an area for aquagym and terraces on different levels for sunbathing after swimming laps. The idea behind this project — and upgrade — was simple: doing sport is also a way of enjoying one’s free time, promoting wellbeing and having fun.

All in all, Camping Le Brasilia received two awards in January 2026 at the CMT (Caravan, Motor und Touristik in German, or Caravan, Motor and Tourism) trade fair in Stuttgart — the world’s largest trade fair dedicated to tourism and leisure and aimed at the general public. The first of these awards was presented by the German ADAC guide: the Superplatz 2026 seal – which could be translated as ‘Super Site 2026’. In fact, Camping Le Brasilia is the only campsite in France to have received this award every year since 1995 without interruption. Meanwhile, the Dutch guide ANWB awarded it the Top Camping 2026. Both awards are considered the most prestigious in Europe and play a decisive role for international tourists and campers when choosing a holiday destination.

Today, the water park at Camping Le Brasilia, L’Archipel, covers an area of over 6,000 m² and comprises two distinct zones: a fun, tropical area, and a more understated, sports-oriented area, featuring one 321 m² swimming pool and another, measuring 225 m², dedicated to aquabike and aquagym. The transformations that Amusement Logic and Camping Le Brasilia began jointly in 2009 are still ongoing. All this is designed to meet the tastes and expectations of tourists and campers who, 60 years after the site opened, still find even more reasons to return.
