In order to reduce interruptions in modern football, we present a functional proposal: specific ball holders along the sidelines of the football pitch. Strategically located every few metres, these structures keep official balls always available to players. In this way, they speed up replacements and minimise delays associated with ball collectors’ work.
This innovation is already in use in several top-flight leagues and could soon become widespread in international football. The design combines functionality, safety and discreet visibility. Made from durable, weather-resistant materials, such as advanced technical composites, they would have a stable base and a spherical cradle that holds the ball without deforming it and allows for quick removal.

In addition, the visible surfaces of the bases—especially during televised matches—can be used to display advertising messages, sponsor logos, institutional campaigns, etc. This adds a new source of revenue for football clubs and federations.
